Masson mills hosted The reading detectives with Derbyshire cultural and community services on the 29th of January. The event heard songs sounds and stories of Derbyshire and the Derwent valley. The event, in the performance area of the Derwent restaurant, was extremely well attended and presented.
MASSON MILLS WHISKY CLUB
Whisky club 18/08/2011
We saw a great turn out of 42 members for the 3rd anniversary of the new whisky club and a slightly different approach to the night. We discussed the importance of the tasting glass, how to store our whisky and then a talk about the qualities of Highland Whisky and the area. We started tastings with a 1994 bottling of Tullabardine which scored a healthy 77 out of 100. Next we sampled a 16 year old AnCnoc which scored 75 out of 100 followed by a 10 year old Edradour scoring 78. The buffet as always was excellent and our birthday party guests had a cracking evening presented with a Cake and real ale beer hamper courtesey of Masson Mills.
Looking forward to meeting all of our members at the next event on the 7th of October.
